His daughter (H)anna was admitted to the church November 25, 1647, and dismissed to the Church of Hartford on May 8, 1649, the wife of John Pantry. Richard had a brother, John.

John was allowed as an inhabitant of Boston January 11, 1639, and was admitted a freeman June 2, 1641. He joined the First Church in Boston preceding the Sunday of the baptism of his daughter, Hopestill, May 9, 1641. He bought of Richard Billingham in 1657 a lot of land in Boston at "Ye North of ye town." He owned and operated the Old Ship Tavern, near the meeting house at the corner of North and Clark Streets, Boston. He operated this until he moved to Swansea, Massachusetts in 1679. He married a second time after the death of his wife, Mary. In December, 1662, John sold to his son-in-law William Shute his home and land near the Battery - "Ye North of ye town."
